During November 14, 2011 in Crisis Management Centre of Emergencies Ministry of Russia for Kamchatskiy krai was observed increase of phone calls from the citizens of the peninsula asking of possible radiation background heightening on the territory of Vilyuchinsk.
According to the data of the Department of Federal Service on Surveillance in the Sphere of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in Kamchatskiy krai, where the results of radiation background everyday monitoring come in, there were no fixed facts of exceedence of radiation background natural level on the territory of Kamchatskiy krai during last week. Research data indicated that the level of radiation background on November 13 and November 14, 2011 in Kamchatskiy krai was normal; it was from 7 up to 8 micro-roentgens per hour.
Chief Directorate of the MES of Russia for Kamchatskiy krai asks the residents of the peninsula to stay calm and not to be affected by the rumors.
