The governor of Kamchatskiy krai held an official meeting with the consul general of Japan
The governor of Kamchatskiy krai Vladimir Ilukhin held an official meeting with the consul general of Japan in Vladivostok Ito Nobuaki.

The meeting was held within the framework of information visit of the consul general to Kamchatskiy krai. In may 2011 Ito Naobuaki superseded the previous consular general Jamada Jun whose diplomatic service in the capital of  Primorskiy krai got over.

Ito Nobuaki thanked Vladimir Ilukhin for warm support and sympathy that had been expressed by the citizens of Kamchatskiy krai to the people suffered during the earthquake in the north-eastern part of Japan. The consul general expressed his hope for the further strengthening of Russian-Japanese cooperation in Kamchatskiy krai.

Vladimir Ilukhin noted that Kamchatskiy krai was ready for the development of cooperation with Japanese partners not only in the sphere of biological resources extraction and processing but in other spheres of economics as well.

During the meeting the parties agreed to carry out the festival of Japanese cinema in Kamchatskiy krai in November 2011. The motion-picture films are planned to be intended not only for grown-ups, but also for children.

“The citizens of Kamchatskiy krai sympathize and are very interested in Japanese culture and art. I’m sure that the films of Japanese directors will be welcomed warmly by the audience of all ages in Kamchatka,” – noted the governor.

Japan takes the second place (22%) in total investments volume that arrived in Kamchatskiy kray in 2010. Sea products take the major part of export to Japan from Kamchatskiy krai, techniques and equipment are imported in the region.
