Kamchatka is a leader in reducing unemployment in the Far East
The Russian news agency Novosti published a national rating of Russian regions based on unemployment rate in November 2019 - January 2020.

Kamchatka is in 19th place. Among the Far East regions only Khabarovsk Territory has a better position. Only 4 percent of the able-bodied population of Kamchatka do not have permanent employment. The region is also the absolute leader among the Far Eastern neighbors in terms of changes in the unemployment rate compared to the same period in 2018 - 2019. The decrease was 1.3 percentage points. In Kamchatka an average job-search process takes four and a half months, which is also the lowest indicator in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent. This is 0.2 percentage points less than that recorded during the previous year.
