The deputy chairman of the Government of Kamchatka Krai Marina Subbotina held a meeting with the Consul General of the USA in Vladivostok Michael Keays.
The purpose of the delegation’s visit, on which was US Consulate General PAO Erik Pugner, -was participation in the International Forum “Eco-informative tourism: problems and prospects of the Far East development”.
Prospects of socio-economic development in Kamchatka Krai were discussed during the meeting.
“Kamchatka Ktai is still developing region. Industrial engineering, mining operations, agriculture and tourism are growing. Kamchatka is still the leader on fishing output in the country”, - said Marina Bubbotina.
She also emphasized that creation of Free Port in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and spreading its conditions on Elizovo territory will increase investment attractiveness of the region and its entrance tourist potential.
“Obviously, Kamchatka has a great potential for developing. I am glad that I can see everything with my own eyes. It is easier now to tell my friends why they should visit Kamchatka. I think that my task as the Consul General will be the consolidation of public diplomacy and facilitation of mutual understanding between our nations”, - said Michael Keays in return.
