Will regions get more rights in implementing mechanisms that are available at the territories of advanced development?
The Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, Alexander Kozlov, in a feature for “The Government Hour,” reported before deputies of the Upper House of Parliament on the socioeconomic transformations in the Far Eastern Federal District, noting/mentioning that the federal district today is a large building platform, which will become a comfortable and developed region.

The Director General of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka, Yulia Kharitonova, believes that special attention should be paid to the part of Kozlov's report where he analyzes the effectiveness of particular economic regimes - The Territories of Advanced Development (TAD), and the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV).

Alexander Kozlov said that his department is making an in-depth analysis of the effectiveness of TAD and FPV, and it’s becoming clear that those mechanisms must be updated.
According to the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development, it is necessary to strengthen the role of local and regional authorities. The Minister gives reasoned arguments in support of his statement: "When implementing investment projects, a territory's priorities regarding its economic development must be taken into account, and of course local governments know them best."

Alexander Kozlov also reported that it’s possible that the local governors will oversee the construction of infrastructure in the territories of advanced development. “This will greatly simplify the formation of schedules, and construction will be monitored on the spot,” he said.
