Federal Agency for Special Construction (Spetsstroy of Russia) has completed the reconstruction of Elizovo airport in Kamchatka region.
On May 11th the Federal Air Transport Agency approved putting into operation the new air-traffic control tower.
On May 12th air controllers started accepting airplanes from the new control tower of Elizovo airport. The first plane to land was Yak-40 flight DE252 from Palana to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
At the moment the builders focused on runway-lighting system and radio equipment of the new airport runway. The first takeoff and landing are expected till June 1st.
