The governor of the Kamchatskiy krai Vladimir Ilukhin visited the guided-missile cruiser “Varyag”

The governor of the Kamchatskiy krai Vladimir Ilukhin visited the Pacific Fleet flagman guided-missile cruiser “Varyag” and participated in the ceremony dedicated to the end of the East military district exercises.

The detachmentof the Pacific fleet including the cruiser “Varyag”, large anti-submarine ships “Admiral Vinogradov” and “Admiral Tributs” and destroyer  “Bystryi” visited Kamchatka to implement the tasks assigned by the Pacific Fleet command. The exercises included missile , torpedo and gun firings, over-the-beach landing of the amphibious and vertical assaults near Petropavlovsk – Kamchatskiy.

Now the detachment is in the sea where Russian navy sailors will hold joint exercises with the Japan sea defense forces to save  the ship in distress. The same trainings with the US Navy are in prospect in Guam Island.
