“Beringia-2017”: the first victories and losses
The musher from Elizovo Valentin Levkovsky is the first who has finished in the village of Verhne-Hairuzovo passing the first phase of sled dog race “Beringia-2017” at the extension of 218 km.

He has been followed by the representative of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Michael Telpin. The musher from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Andrey Semashkin has come the third.  

The sled dog race “Beringia-2017” has started in the village of Esso. The distance of the current year is the longest of the last 15 years. Dog sleds are going to pass 1500 km. The musher are supposed to finish in the village of Ust-Kamchatsk tentatively on 28 Match.

An Orthodox priest from Esso village, a musher of “Beringia-2017” Vladislav Revenok had to withdraw from the race because of dog’s state of health.

Vladislav Revenok was on important mission in “Beringia-2017” – to tell inhabitants of remote villages about the first Orthodox Bishop of Kamchatka. Other two priests have gone to the race route with him by snowmobiles. They will continue their trip.
