An alpine skier Elena Yakovishina from Kamchatka brought the first Universiade-2017 gold for Russia
There is the Winter Universiade-2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The first Russian team’s golden medal was brought by an alpine skier Elena Yakovishina from Kamchatka. She showed the best result at super-G and won over her opponents from Finland and Japan with advantage of 0.73 and 0.92, respectively.  

Russian national team of alpine skiing includes four representatives of Kamchatka – three girls and one young man.

Over two thousand athletes from 57 countries are participating in the Universiade-2017.
