A traditional religious procession around the hill with the main Orthodox church in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky took place on the Day of Slavic Alphabet and Culture. The day is also named the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who created Slavic alphabet.

The procession started with a prayer in the church. After that many people solemnly walked around the hill. Priests, members of the church, military men, Cossacks, representatives of different organizations and other people took part in the procession.
