Fairytales of the North

The festival of the fairytales of the indigenous small numbered peoples of the North has come to an end in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. A good knowledge of native language (unfortunately, that is often a problem) was the main assessment criterion. Besides, the jury took into account artistic skills, decorations, speciality of performance, costumes and usage of household items.

This year the festival had a new nomination - "A fairytale of indigenous people in Russian language". Only one person took part in it at the moment.

In addition, the festival had an exhibition and sale of national literature and a seminar "A fairytale as a way of preserving languages of the indigenous small numbered peoples of the North, living in Kamchatka region".
